In order to vote in a Wentworth election, or referendum, full time and seasonal residents must be registered on the municipal electoral list. Full-time residents should automatically be registered to vote (one vote per adult) whereas seasonal residents have to register to vote, allowing only one vote per household. There are specific forms for seasonal residents, depending on if the property is owned by only one individual or if it is jointly owned by a number of individuals.
Forms may be obtained at the municipal office, or go to the municipal website. Under the TO VOTE, Qualified Elector section, click on and print out the PDF voting forms: SMRC-9.2 if you are the sole owner of a property, and SMRC-9.1 if you are the co-owner of a property. The completed forms should be returned to the municipal office. Seasonal residents who have recently bought property in the area have to wait twelve months before they can have their names entered on the list.
